$20,000 to be Awarded to Local Area Schools
Earning for Learning turns money spent at SuperMall into cash prizes for local schools
Auburn, WA (August 12, 2008) – SuperMall has announced they will once again express their commitment to children’s education through their annual program called Earning for Learning. Earning for Learning is a partnership program designed to promote education in local school districts. The program encourages local families and friends to shop at SuperMall over an eight week promotional period to earn “points,” and ultimately cash prizes, for the school of their choice. SuperMall has upped the amount of cash prizes this year to a total of $20,000 that will be given to five area schools.
“Earning for Learning reinforces SuperMall’s continued commitment to our community, schools and to the city of Auburn. We are excited to provide area schools with the monetary means to support their individual needs” said Bruce Goldsberry, SuperMall General Manager.
From August 15th through October 5th, each dollar that customers spend can be turned into points for the school of their choice. Mondays and Tuesdays are identified as “Double-Point Days” and receipts from those select days earn the school double points. Purchases of SuperMall gift cards earn triple points for the schools. Several bonus point opportunities will also be held throughout the promotion in conjunction with SuperMall’s upcoming school supply drives, computer recycling event, spelling bee and more. Shoppers can redeem their receipts for points at Guest Services in SuperMall’s Train Court and designate their school of choice.
SuperMall will keep an updated standings board showing which school’s are in the lead. At the end of the contest, the top five schools will be awarded cash prizes of $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Shoppers have until October 5, 2008 to turn in their receipts.
At the end of the contest, winning schools will be invited to a check presentation ceremony. The winning schools will be notified by October 13, 2008.
Last year, area schools brought in over 35,000 points. Lakeland Hills Elementary, last year’s grand prize winner, was awarded $2,500.
Every K-12 school in the state of Washington is eligible to participate in the contest and is not required to sign-up. Show your school spirit by participating in the Earning for Learning reward program and turn your shopping dollars into money for local schools.
